Hampshire Open Studios 2018

Hampshire Open Studios 2018 is nearly upon us and I’m not ready!  But I have a plan so all is good!  This year I will be joined by two other artists Donna Mcghie and Jasmin Crockett.  So the line up is:

Susan Kerrigan-Harris (me) with portraits in soft pastel.  Horses, pets and people.  I’m running a complimentary photo shoot for anyone who would like a commission.  I’m also introducing my brand new Seascape Collection.  These are 5×7 inch pastel paintings of beautiful sunsets and moody lighting.  There will also be a limited number of larger original seascapes for sale.  Prints and cards also available and can be framed – ideal gifts.

Donna McGhie a mural and 3D Artist will be displaying a number of her Angels from her Soul Sisters Collection.  The beautiful sculptures of angels have their wings made from recycled bras – yes bras!  Donna says “Like everyone else I know, my family has been touched by cancer in many of its various guises. Breast cancer being one of them. As I was planning on using the bras to make up a major part of these sculptures, it made sense to me, as and when I sold them, to donate a percentage of each sale to Cancer Research.
Jasmin Crockett makes experimental ceramic jewellery inspired by female anatomy, structure, microscopic anatomy and patterns. The forms are simple and provide the perfect canvas for both intricate and straightforward surface design using a range of techniques and materials.  Here’s Jasmin glazing – a meditative part of the process which always results in new ideas. At the moment she is glazing earrings and then she will be moving on to some pendants.
