Hi Sue, I have just finished this German Shephard that looks so much like my girl. I learned so much and also had some challenges. I did it on Mi-Teintes Touch. This is such difficult paper to work on. The pastels do not stay on and also scratch off when using a pastel pencil. Very frustrating. I did learn the importance of tracing the picture properly. You cannot trace without looking at the reference picture. I also think using a coloured pencil would help. You can then see where you have already traced. Lastly I battled with the pastel colours. I do not have any of the pastels you used and should have marked which of mine I was using to your colour numbers. Anyway I have a very nice finished picture but am planning on doing it again on Pastelmat. Once I have finished doing all the fur tutorials as well I intend to go onto doing the tutorials for white and black fur. Thank you so much. I have loved every minute of doing this picture even with the problems I had – the only way to learn. Marilyn

Another superb tutorial from Sue I enjoyed every second of drawing this. Sue puts so much effort and information into her tutorials once again I’ve learnt so much from this one I absolutely loved doing the out of focus grass background and Sue made it so easy to do once again thank you Sue for everything you do

Thank you Sue for such an in depth tutorial and exploration of colour. It’s amazing how many subtle colours there are in this painting. I’ve worked this one on A3 pastelmat and used all the materials recommended by Sue. It was a massive project and I found it very challenging and suffered quite a few wobbles working on this, but am so glad I saw it through. It has taught me to look deeper into colours and how to use this in other work.
