I really enjoyed this work, I found that mixing watercolor and pastels was fun and different. A great learning experience.

Yet another wonderful lesson from Sue. I am scared of watercolours as I cannot control them but it was fun just to play with the watercolours to give the background. The bird was fun as we were pastelling an impression of a blue tit. Thanks Sue

This was my first class with Sue. I was interested in how to use watercolour on pastelmat. Sue sent me the material list, line art etc before the class – she even included technical help too for anyone who needed it. The class itself was ‘just right’ regarding the pace & was very friendly. Not only was it enjoyable but I’ve actually come away with new skills to use in future artwork. I won’t hesitate in signing up for future classes.

I loved doing this tutorial. The thought of the background was terrifying, but Sue talked it through perfectly, and I loved the end result (I just used water with my pastels as didn’t have watercolours). Really easy to follow recording, and I could pause it when I was taking a little long and needed more time.

Thank you so much!! Was lovely, a favourite bird in this family too so wonderful start. Learnt to be more gentle and small with pencils, and will practice the branch effects. Descriptions of techniques and colours were brilliant. Absolutely lovely to join in with. Thank you!
