Learn with me step by step how to pastel this beautiful Aurora sky and snow capped mountains  See below for more details.

This beautiful Aurora sky and mountains 8x12 inches (A4 size).   Full list of supplies are in the PDF  HD quality recording .   You can view the recording for as long as you wish, there is no time limit.

My key message in this one is to help you not to create a big blue mess. It would be very easy to slap down dark colours for the sky and then slap the Aurora on top of it, do some fancy blending and hey-presto it's perfect. This is what experts do when they have spent time practicing their techniques. If you do that and you're new-ish to soft pastel, you're going to end up in a big blue mess and no Aurora. So join me live (or get the recording) and see how you can build this beautiful Aurora sky with light layers of pastel. I'll show you how to be light handed.

What a great tutorial and subject. I enjoyed that Sue used two different images and explained why she did that. The colors are gorgeous and it was fun to follow along. I always find Sue easy to listen to as I paint and if you need to pause the video you can.

Thoroughly enjoyed this on.e, learnt so much about blending and NOT blending, tools and their uses and .how to contrast colours to great effect. Sue explains everything very clearly and demonstrates every step beautifully. She also offers fantastic support on Facebook, outside the tutorial itself.

Sue Kerrigan-Harris’s soft pastel workshops are amazing. She doesn’t just show you what to do, but also what not to do . She explains each procedure in detail, she is patient and is happy for anyone to come in with questions at anytime during the workshop. Sue is an outstanding pastel artist. I am not new to pastel workshops and they have been very good. This is my first with Sue, and I will definitely be back doing more with her. Thank you Sue.

Absolutely fantastic tutorial, I have learnt lots of new skills, to be able to paint the aurora. Something I really love and have been fastenated by them for years. I love Sue’s clear and easy to follow instructions that anyone can follow, with all the step by step guides. It’s the first time using a grid method, which now I hope will make me more comfortable using in future paintings. I have to say that Sue is a 5star plus tutor, I am dyslexic so I do struggle with taking in lots of information at once but the way Sue teaches you it’s done in a way that isn’t rushed and having the video to watch anytime as well helps to reinforce what you have learnt in the live tutorial in your own time. I love to make the live tutorial if I can because I can ask questions as I am following along with Sue. This gives me confidence and ability to ask about specific areas during the tutorial. Confidence in ones ability is something I really struggle with day to day due to health issues, too. Thank you, Sue, for another fabulous tutorial.

Really enjoyed this one. The real-time, step-by-step instruction was helpful and left me with a feeling of confidence in my own ability to do this lovely painting!

Here are some of my takeaways:

    1) Take my time on things!!!
    2) Blending: Be aware of the effect I’m after, and use appropriate tools.
    3) Contrast–ways of creating this, especially with the colours I choose.
    4) SO much detailed information on the use of tools for blending.
    5) Information and demonstrations of different ways of blending and the effects that are obtained from each one.

WOW is all I can say!
