My first exhibition with Hampshire Open Studios has been a resounding success! Everyday I have had visitors who have been thrilled to see my work and see me working. As this was my first exhibition it took a lot of work to get things ready. I need to convert my conservatory come playroom into an Art Gallery of some sort. This involved hiding all of my sons toys in the shed – he was not pleased but has tolerated having his space converted for 9 days. It’s also involved putting up a picture rail and that involved putting up other picture rails, in the hall wall and in my art studio upstairs. I will definitely need some hanging space – the more the better.
So over the 9 days I have seen everything… I’ve had customers buying original art, cards and prints. Phone calls and people visiting about commissions of their pets or their grandchildren’s pets; demonstration requests and tuition requests.
Hampshire Open Studios 2017 has been a resounding success for my art career and I very much look forward to next year.
