Description
6 Week in-person drawing course to help you learn how to draw. Suitable for complete beginners and improvers. I’ll be teaching you the tricks of the trade I use myself to make drawing feel much more manageable, rather than expecting you to somehow magically know how to do it.
Here’s a summary of the course. We’ll mostly be drawing animals and everyday objects, but the skills you learn will help you draw almost anything you want.
Week 1
Mark making, pencil positions and arm movements that make drawing easier to learn and create a fun, mindful practice.
Week 2
3D objects using symmetry, peripheral vision and negative space – the tricks that really make drawing easier.
Week 3
Using your practice from Week 1 and 2 to break subjects into simple shapes and make them easier to draw.
Week 4
Simple ways to check your drawing and get things in the right place – using easy visual tricks to help you see when something is too big, too small, too high or too low.
Week 5
How to tackle more complicated subjects by breaking them down into manageable sections with a grid and learning how to adapt the grid to suit what you are drawing.
Week 6
Learning my minimalist custom grid method – a different way to use a grid when you want more freedom while still having some helpful reference points.
