Fantastic Tutorial. I did my painting larger than the one Sue did because I wanted to emphasize the gorgeous colors in the sky. The way she taught you how to glaze the clouds to create the depth of color will be something I use time and time again. Wonderful tutorial. You won’t be disappointed with this one!

This tutorial and the image to work from were outstanding. I loved the colors in the sky and chose to paint this considerably larger than Sue did so that I could really emphasize the colors in the sky. The glazing technique Sue uses to add depth of color to the clouds is fantastic. I will use this technique many many more times in the future. If you haven’t taken one of Sue’s classes/tutorials – I highly recomment that you do, you won’t regret it!

I had some experience with dry pastel before I found Sue but when I saw the standard of her beautiful pastel paintings I felt inspired to learn more. Following Sue’s tutorials has helped me get out of my comfort zone and develop skills which I can apply to my own original pastel paintings. Her tutorials are well presented making them easy to follow even if you have no previous experience.

The tutorial was fun and very instructive. I am learning so much. Clouds really aren’t that easy especially if you are heavy handed. Completed for Halloween. (Hubby said we are not buying any more junk for Halloween. He didn’t say I couldn’t make anything!) Sue you made the clouds look so easy. Doing the Moonlit Night next when hubby has the rugby on. Not sure how it will turn out as not got many purples. Once again Sue thank you.

  5. Kimmi

I had an absolute blast doing this very colourful sky
Sue’s tutorial is so wonderful to follow and the beauty of having the video to use as and when you can paint is priceless to me
The amount i learn from each one is fantastic, different techniques and subjects i never thought i would be able to paint and most of all the style of teaching all add up to a brilliant experience
    Thank you Sue
