Another fantastic tutorial from Sue. I put off starting this for ages as it looked too hard but thanks to Sue’s tuition I managed it! Excellent guidance and some new techniques for me to try. I’d been putting off doing this tutorial as I was not confident about pastelling the open jaws and teeth. But as always, Sue’s tuition is brilliant. Her advice was to see shapes rather than gums and teeth. I held on to that thought right through that section, as it wasn’t until I put the final highlights on the teeth that suddenly, it all came together and looked like a proper snarl! I’m really pleased with my final painting and will no longer worry about tackling animal muzzles and teeth again! Thank you Sue for yet another excellent tutorial!

I was terrified of this tutorial at first, but I loved the photo reference. Sue walks you through each step and shows you pointers and shortcuts that really help to get the likeness right. I usually watch the technique in her videos and then try it on my own. Being able to start and stop is fabulous. The short fur on the nose was scary for me but with Sue’s guidance I was thrilled with it. AND I can come back to this tutorial and watch it again if I ever need to. Thank you Sue!
