Lion Study Tutorial

(1 customer review)

A lovely lion from the Entabeni Game reserve in South Africa.  I’ll show you how to pastel this handsome lion in soft pastel.  More information below.

The Lion study is a real treat and you are going to learn so much from him.  I painted him last year and my customer has kindly said that I can use him as a tutorial.  Now, the photo is not too bad a quality, but not the best which is what I usually recommend. As artists we are often challenged with out of focus or poor quality photos, so what can we do?   I'll show you how to read this photo so you can do him proud.

I’ve done half a dozen small pastel sketches before but did not know anything about pastels. This was only my second ever pastel picture. Sue is very clear, answers questions well during the class and provides really good reference material and follow up for the courses. I’m very very pleased with my result.
