Fantastic tutorial which was easy to follow I used for my Christmas cards in December

This is my favourite tutorial of Sue’s and created my first Christmas cards for friends and family.

Sue explains things so well and if you get stuck she’ll go out of her way to get you right back on track.

I’d 100% recommend this tutorial for beginners upwards.

  3. Gillian Riley

i absolutely loved doing the Christmas Horse tutorial in the snow. I think I will have to invest in the big tutorial for horses lol

I love the way you work on and teach the tutorials, Sue.

Took me months to get around to doing this one – but that’s the beauty of Sue’s tutorials – you can do them in your own time, and now I have a beautiful drawing ready to make into a Christmas card without the stress of trying to do it in the run-up! My version is bluer than Sue’s as I didn’t have many purples and violets, but that really doesn’t matter and I really enjoyed it

I joined the LIVE Zoom then re watched the tuition video and made a couple of changes to my painting, this was so relaxing to do. Lovely soft colours, I used mostly lilacs and pinks with some blue grey pastel pencils. Unfortunately the photo doesn’t show the pinks very well. I used Sennelier 527 which is a pearly white on the large snowflakes, I thought it might shimmer but it doesn’t. It’s all about learning from your mistakes before you try again and make it better than before.
Thank you Sue, this has been most enjoyable.

  6. Fiona Schofield

I’ve really loved doing the horse/robin tutorial as always fab tuition thank you Sue.

  7. Mandy Bugg

I absolutely loved doing this one. Colours are gorgeous. Thank you Sue for another great tutorial!

  8. Helen

Great, well explained and demonstrated tutorial.
Sue has excellent skills in showing how she creates such effects with pastels and pencils. You don’t necessarily need the same colours to achieve a good finish.
